Our district has seen serious, drastic budget cuts this past year, including a 20% cut for all Fine Arts budgets. This greatly limits the amount of funds available for instructional materials and instruments. In addition, the grant for an amazing keyboard program was pulled at my school. With all the changes in education, our school focuses closely on STEM subjects. A lot of students who struggle in core subjects succeed and look forward to music! The language of music connects all students together as one. Being able to have music class is an important outlet for my students. They are able to express themselves through use of their body, voice and imagination. They learn to understand the importance of concentration and cooperation within life and music class. Thank you for taking the time to read my message. We are looking forward to a wonderful and musical 2021-2022 school year!
