My students need a listening center so they are able to listen to books on tape or cd. The purpose is to expose them to ways to obtain information, listen to understand, for enjoyment, and to learn. By having a listening center my students will enhance their listening skills because it enhances comprehension, cuts down on distractions, and encourages verbal communication. The headphones will make a difference in my classroom because they are much needed for our classroom IPads. In kindergarten almost everything is read to the students, so individual headphones are needed to cut down on noise and distractions from other units.
