The students will travel to Asheville and take a premium tour of the Vanderbilt mansion. They will experience how life was lived in the early 1900's on the estate for all who lived and worked there through storytelling, historic artifacts, and period materials. For many, it will be the first time they have experienced anything outside of Easley, South Carolina. It is certainly an amazing experience for anyone, but imagine being new to the United States and being from a rural village in Guatemala. These students are eager to learn and experience everything they can and I want them to see the old USA as well as the current USA that they are now part of and contributing to. .
