We All Scream for a Green Screen!
Funded Jun 22, 2023Your donation for the green screen has added so much value to our classroom already this year. The students enjoyed taking part in creating it and are currently learning how to edit their intro class interviews we filmed this week.
Not only does it add an extra aesthetic to our classroom but it has provided an icebreaker activity that has supported the classroom community. Students are excited to make professional looking films and are already feeling the creative energy that this green screen helps support.
Thank you so much for your support with this project. This green screen will be utilized all throughout this year and the years to come.”

It's a Stop-Motion Animation Party!
Funded Feb 15, 2023Thank you so much for your support with this project. Students are still in the process of using the materials to create some of their final stop motion works and not only will this serve the kids this year but also for years to come!
Some students are using the clay to make fake body parts that will double for special effects in their short films and others are building little creatures that will be integrated into their stop motion pieces. All of the students are greatly appreciative of your support.
You are also all invited to our TV & Film Showcase on May 23rd from 5-7 at the Middlesex Community College Academic Arts Center at 240 Central St. in Lowell! It's free and there will be popcorn!
Come grab your seat!”

Artist Choice Board, a Rainbow of Options in Art!
Funded Jan 1, 2022Giving my students more options in the art room has helped in so many ways. It has kept them creating even if they need more time to process a project idea. It has provided them with more materials to choose from and it has allowed my students to access different things in the art room in a responsible way.
The gimp is a huge hit with all students and has been a great end of the week motivator to finish their week lesson. The white boards are utilized all the time, from brainstorming ideas, to playing pictionary.
All of these materials and options for students provide more than just an activity. They promote independence, confidence, creativity and focus. Thank you for all of your support and my students and I thank you!”

Scientific Succulent Sculptures
Funded Sep 4, 2021Thank you for support on this project. Students used the plans for observational drawing, painting and sculpting practice, we looked at the history of botanical art and how people have looked at and admired plants for hundreds of years.
My students loved that they got to pass out and care for succulents and cacti and many were telling me where I should locate them in the room and how much water they should have etc. In addition to our students taking care of the live plans they are able to take their sculptures home before the holidays as the perfect gift to themselves or a loved one.
All succulents and cacti are now being cared for by our custodian who has a green thumb and is going to get them to flower. We will be able to use these plants for years to come and its is all because of your love and support.”

Skin Tone Markers and More!
Funded May 3, 2021This was the perfect gift to my students for the end of this year and going into the fall. Students made color charts and set up their own system to take care of them. They are in love and so am I.
My students have already used the markers for fashion drawings, sneaker design, and hand lettering. I am looking forward to so many other projects they will continue to be used for this coming year and I am overjoyed that they are taking such good care of them to make sure they last and last!
It is only with your support that materials such as these get purchased for the art room. With prices for materials increasing, our school art budget that is under $1.50 per student for the year and a working world where creativity and design are the skills that are valued for so many professions from design to engineering, you are the reason these students will have more opportunities to prepare themselves for future success.
Thank you for your support and I want you to know that your contribution to purchasing markers goes way beyond the project itself.”

Funded Dec 1, 2020Thank you so much for the opportunity to do clay with our students remotely, this unique project opened up the options for our students ability to keep exploring different materials for creating while at home.
The Polymer clay was so much fun and helped make art club feel more connected. We even had one of our students tell us that he purchased more Polymer clay on his own to keep making more projects because he enjoyed it so much!
Being able to run an additional art after school program while remote has helped build our connection with these kids and improved their social emotional connections. These art students have been given a place to hang out with each other and create without the pressures of grades. This has helped maintain a sense of normal and as we now head back into inperson learning has allowed students to create friendships making coming back in that much more exciting.
Thank you again for your support!”

Funded Aug 11, 2020Thank you so much for your support in this project. The technology of the 3D printer is helping my students see that so many things are still possible while learning from home during this time.
Students have explored creating their own radial symmetry fractals and converted them to a 3D image file they were able to see printed. They have realized they can design, build and print their own game characters and some have even gone beyond class time to keep creating in 3D.
Each item printed was then packaged individually and available to them for pick up when convenient from school.
It is certainly an interesting time to say the least but showing my students that they can keep creating, keep learning, and keep exploring their interests is a real honor and I could not have don't this without your generosity and support.”

Funded Jan 12, 2020The photos attached were the only photos I was able to take of this project so far. This was the same day we found out schools were closed three weeks or longer. I am so happy I was able to get back into the school to check on the kiln that I had fired the day before and take some photos of the pendants before everything was shut down. I was also able to share these photos with some of our students on our school art instagram account so students could see the awesome results and they loved them!
Hopefully this will all pass soon and not only can the students look at these cool glass melting results but they can forever keep and wear these beautiful works of art.
I am so grateful for all of you who value and support the arts. It's what has helped me find success and I know that many of my students find their own success with the arts. I wish you all a healthy and happy spring. If I am able to update our progress on this project, I certainly will!”
