Our students must keep up with the latest advancements in education to spark an interest in reading. Education is changing every single day, and so are the interests of my students. Students in my classroom like to read about historical events and science. My school district does not have an adopted history or science curriculum, so Time For Kids would be a great addition for three second-grade classrooms.
Struggling readers will often pick up a comic book because the pictures and visuals are less intimidating than a typical book.
Students who read these graphic novels find reading fun and begin to read more for enjoyment! Helping students begin to learn that reading is fun is a perfect way to build better readers. Time For Kids has these qualities and would be a gateway to better reading skills for reluctant readers. My students will love getting their hands on these reading materials.
