Students need exposure to a variety of painting tools, ranging from paints to brush types to palettes etc. If we always give them cheap supplies, their art reflects that of when they were in elementary. Great supplies allow for creativity, imagination and expression: all of which allows the students to become confident in their choices in art and beyond. A variety of paint brushes and paint colors will allow the students to interact with mark making and color mixing in a more fulfilling, expressive way. These brushes can be used with any paint type. Unlike the crayola brushes with the bristles that always fall out. With the palettes, students need their own paint tray so they can be 100% in control of their color choices and mixing. We will also save time because water color paints can be re-hydrated and re-used. There is also less washing at the sinks, which then equals more art time.
