Through the use of EV3 robots and Sphero Balls, today's student can learn valuable coding skills. Coding is the language of the future, and all students need to know how to code to some extent. As these students enter the workforce, the ability to code will give them an advantage over students who cannot code. Our English Language Learners and Female populations will benefit from acquiring coding and robotic skills as they prepare to enter college and the workforce, and the EV3 Robots and Sphero Balls will introduce them to these coding skills in a way that is hands-on and fun. Any form of helping hand, such as an introduction to coding through robotics, will be beneficial to these populations as they try to create a better life for them and their families. These supplies will be used in multiple coding projects throughout the year. They will program robots to run various teacher and student created challenges. Students will have the opportunity to get hands on, real world experience in a field that needs more minorities and females. To this end, the materials that I ask for will better prepare my students to enter the collegiate and employment levels ahead of their peers.
