My students will be able to move around the room and work in other areas besides their desk. I feel that this will create a better learning environment for my students. There are immediate benefits of flexible seating which include burning more calories, using up excess energy, improving metabolism, increased motivation and engagement, creating a better oxygen flow to the brain, and improving core strength and overall posture. Physical activity is linked to higher academic performance, better health, and improved behavior. These seating options which include floor pillows, lap desks, and reading slants will allow my students to benefit from flexible seating. I can't wait to see the positive results!
