These materials will allow my students to express themselves and their ideas through art. Right now we do not have art class at my school, so many of my students love to paint but we, unfortunately, cannot give them that opportunity. This project will give my students the materials and opportunity to connect with themselves and their ideas and express them through art. Many of my students are English Language Learners so this is especially helpful for students who may not have the language but can show their ideas through art. This easel will allow two students to work on their pieces together while using many different colors and other art materials to create a masterpiece! My goal is to help those students who feel overwhelmed and give them a creative outlet to help them feel empowered. This is why I am choosing to create a project for a new art center in my classroom. I feel as though art is an outlet for all student's but especially the ones who are feeling overwhelmed with all the new information. Painting gives students a break from the content to connect with themselves and create something that is important to them.
