I work with 10 schools within my High School's cluster. Two of my schools plus the high school I work with are part of the RDSPD program, which are our Regional Day Schools that work with students that are Deaf and/or Hard of Hearing. It's a unique program to be a part of. My students range from Pre-K all the way to 22 years of age.
I mentor teachers to be able to help these students with their long term transition goals. I work with the families one-on-one to also prepare them for what life will look like on that first day when their child is no longer attending our schools.
Many of our special education students will have needs for the rest of their lives and some will need help setting up what their adult life will look like before they are independent.
Our goal as Transition Specialists is to make sure the students, their parents, and the schools have the best possible plans for their success!
About my class
