My students are young so they learn through play. I incorporate behavior and academic goals into structured play. I try to find educational materials that seem more like a game than work. I have a couple of students who are non-verbal, so alternative forms of response are needed. I like to use technology (response buttons) to give these students a voice and a means to participate. Reinforcement is also a big aspect of our classroom. My students are not intrinsically motivated, so finding games, toys, and sensory items that motivate them is imperative. My students love kinetic sand and water marbles. Light covers enable the students to work and play without sensory overload.
