By providing the students with a laptop during the working day the students will be able to practice reading skills through engaging online phonics websites like Starfall and topics that we learn in science and social studies through different learning sites like PBS Kids or BrainPop. Many of these students don't travel far from home but with a laptop they can see the world! Our school has an excellent online component to our math program that provides video explanations and online games but our students don't have the ability to access it from home right now. A laptop in class would give them the extra help they need.
