In my mind the supplies I am requesting already have a place in my classroom. The classroom set of calculators and hanging wall pocket chart have a spot picked out. Regularly a handful of students ask if they can borrow one from me during the class (some forget them, some don't have one). These calculators will make sure all students have access to all the tools they need to be successful this year. Additionally the graphing calculator will allow me to show students the possibilities of technology and how it can help enhance their math understanding. Students will use the pens and highlighters while taking notes so they can color code their notes when necessary. The paper, pens, scissors and hole punches will be used for student projects and classroom supplies - making graphic organizers, creating multiple visual representations of the algebraic functions and our parabola project where students have to create a piece of art using parabolas and linear equations. The dry erase markers will be used for individual student whiteboards, where students can display their work for both myself and their peers to see. The math books will provide me with the resources to continue evolving as a teacher and to create new and exciting ways for students to access math. The resources mentioned above along with the Kleenex and paper storage box will create a classroom environment where students are ready and willing to learn. Your donations will provide a boost in morale that we will sustain throughout the year.
