I am asking for expo markers and lap boards, colored paper, Ziploc storage bags, colored pencils, and calculators. My students need these supplies so that they can make interactive math games that they can use to practice the skills they need to be successful. The bright paper, energizes these students, they know they are not going to be doing a worksheet. The puzzles and games provide the practice they desperately need, while allowing them to have fun. Students remember the games (where they work 20+ problems), not always the handout with 20 problems. Students are going to be engaged, learning and having fun doing it. Lap boards and expo markers give my students the chance to practice and show what they know quickly, and everyone participates, without complaining. It allows me to quickly see who has it and who needs it. I also get to see if I didn't explain something well, and get to fix that quickly instead of the next day, after they have made mistakes. Some of the items are to help store and keep games organized so we can come back and review them later, and practice again. My students have to have the repetition to be successful. That means lots of review. Having quick access to the activities lets us have more practice time.
