Be Clean! Be Healthy!
Funded Sep 15, 2017Thank you so much for contributing to my class. We were in dire need of cleaning supplies. Keeping the room clean is imperative to keeping the room neat and organized. I moved into a new class this year so we had to do a lot of cleaning. Being as I work with lower leveled special needs students, we do a lot of hands on activities. Such as cutting, pasting and measuring. Therefore, we use the dust pan and broom several times throughout the day.
Some of our students have compromised immune systems making them more likely to be ill and miss days from school. With all of the wipes, cleaners, and paper towels we have been able to manage germs in the classroom and keep the students attendance up.
Lastly, cleaning the room will allow the students to stay clean and healthy. Being as the winter season is has come and almost gone, we have been able to avoid the cold and flu in our classroom. We have had the best attendance in the entire school. We have had 3 popcorn parties this year because our attendance is so high!!
Thanks again for your generous donations!!”

Funded Sep 19, 2016Thank you so much for funding my technology project for my students. I cannot express how elated I was to show the students the Kindles when they arrived. The students were so excited!!! My student tried repeated to use my laptop during class however they couldn't figure out the mouse feature. We do not have working computers in our class so they really had no idea what they were missing. My students use the tablets everyday. We use them for particular lessons or for free time.
My students are now able to see real life experiences on the tablets to help clarify information. We use Starfall and abcmouse to help with reading and math skills. We watch videos and research recipes to make different food items for out class. We even watch videos about Martin Luther King Jr. to see why he was such an influential man. Also, we have even gone on a few virtual field trips using our tablets.
It is amazing to see my students so excited and motivated to learn because of our kindles. The students work so hard and we had limited resources. Now that we have the kindles, we can compensate for the things we don't have with them. Lastly, my students are learning a big lesson about responsibility using the kindles. They are learning that they need to be gentle when using the kindles. They also need to keep them charged. learning the hard way that the battery can die on the kindle can ruin your entire day. Thanks again for the kind donation. WE LOVE THE KINDLES!”
