  • Hands-on Phonics Works for All!

    Funded Aug 15, 2024

I want to express my heartfelt thanks for your generous donation, which has made this project possible for my students. They were absolutely thrilled to use the new materials this year! In fact, many of them have shared that they enjoy using the trays even more than our traditional whiteboard activities. These resources have played a key role in helping my students develop essential literacy skills.

The hands-on, multisensory tools are specifically designed to help students understand letters and their corresponding sounds, and they have proven incredibly effective. The phonics trays are enhancing my students' sound awareness and strengthening both their reading and writing abilities through a variety of engaging activities.

The magnetic letters, in particular, have been a great asset for building letter recognition. We've also started using the trays to extend students' knowledge by building words and manipulating sounds, which is reinforcing the foundational skills necessary for reading and writing.

Incorporating these hands-on activities has allowed me to address the diverse learning styles within my classroom, while making phonics instruction both enjoyable and meaningful. I'm confident that, with continued use, my students will continue to make excellent progress in their phonemic awareness and overall literacy development—thanks to your support.

Once again, thank you for helping make this important learning experience possible!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Plunkett

  • Phonics Can Be Fun!

    Funded Dec 20, 2023

I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for your unwavering commitment to learning. As we navigate the exciting world of phonics, I am thrilled to witness the progress and enthusiasm of my students firsthand.

Our phonics texts and interactive learning games have become valuable tools in our classroom. They've not only deepened our understanding of phonics skills but also injected an element of joy into our lessons. It's heartwarming to see how quickly students adapt to new materials, always eager for that extra game time at the end of our block.

And guess what? The best part is that while you're having fun, you're also mastering essential skills. Learning doesn't have to be dull—it can be an adventure!

As we approach the final 12 weeks of this school year, I have begun reflecting on our journey. Compared to last year, we've covered even more phonics lessons. Student growth is evident, and I'm confident that my students will step into second grade prepared and ready to conquer new challenges.”

  • Storage Cabinet for Organization!

    Funded Sep 6, 2023

It is with great gratitude and appreciation that I submit this impact letter to you for your kindness and willingness to give, toward "Storage Cabinet for Organization." With the awesome cabinet, I am able to supply my students with a specific space to find various classroom supplies. My students were excited to see our new piece of furniture when they arrived after a long weekend.

This cabinet has allowed us to store more important instructional materials. Our small learning space does not a lot of shelving making it more difficult to store instructional materials.

The storage cabinet has been a great asset to the class as it has helped us to stay more organized. We can store materials especially when they are not in use. This allows us keep materials stored in an organized way to find easily when needed for future lessons.”

  • The Wonderful World of Color!

    Funded Apr 18, 2023

Thank you for donating to my project. It is amazing to see just how easily a simple picture in color can impact a students understanding. This color printer has allowed me to print various resources for each of my students. We have made flashcards for games, added colored alphabet charts to our writing folders, and have added colored anchor charts to our walls based on our unit vocabulary.

Many students that are learning English have a more robust understanding of the subject matter than their existing English language proficiency might reflect. The use of visual aids can build an ELLs' self-confidence by helping them absorb the content and become interactive in the classroom. Color printed materials offer many benefits in teaching students—they better capture attention and deliver an enhanced learning experience. Research has consistently shown that color increases memory retention better than verbal or textual cues alone.

I cannot wait to see the progress my students will make this school year thanks to your generous donation!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Plunkett

  • English in a Flash!

    Funded Oct 1, 2019

This letter is just a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to my classroom. The incredibly versatile Epson projector that you donated to has greatly benefited my students each day.

This projector has opened many new and engaging ways for my students to learn English. My students were so excited to walk in and see that we had received a projector to use in our class together. They no longer have to look at my laptop or an ipad when we listen to a story aloud or watch an educational clip on Brain Pop, Jr. We are building our vocabulary through the use of real world pictures that are in color and enlarged on our classroom screen.

Your gift has made a phenomenal impact on how my students learn and present information. We are very grateful for your help. Each day our English vocabulary and skills grow – I cannot wait to see where my students will be in June!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Plunkett
