• All Pencil Sharpeners Go To Heaven

  My students and I are extremely grateful for your willingness and generosity. Your donations will make a major impact in our classroom. My students will now be able to sharpen their pencils more efficiently and no longer depend on me having to use a hand held sharpener. The pre-sharpened pencils will also help extend the life of the brand new pencil sharpener. • Can You Hear Me Now?

  The new headphones for each of my students is such a huge enhancement to their learning experience. While using their student devices, the students are able to directly hear the instruction and sounds from the learning apps. There are no longer distracted by overhearing the sounds from their classmates around them. I, as the teacher, am most definitely appreciative because I no longer have to hear 30 student devices all at once.

  I have had some students express that they like the different colors of the headphones. They also have expressed how they are comfortable.

• Scholastic Readers For My 2nd Grade Scholars

  My students on this past school year were greatly appreciative for your donations. Your donations provided access to Scholastic News magazines that stimulated their learning. The content in these magazines were very engaging. The students were able to reinforce their reading and comprehension skills. Every time that I assigned homework that correlated with the Scholastic News magazines, the students were excited. Excited about homework! • Seat Sacks For My Rock Stars!

  When the students entered the classroom and saw the new seat sacks, they were very excited. They could now store their workbooks, textbooks, and other materials inside which provided them with more space inside their desks. It also helps them to access their materials more quickly.

  The seat sacks are an amazing and helpful addition to my classroom. I am beyond grateful to every donor who supported this project. My 2nd grade students are very grateful as well. Your donation is felt every single day when the students can easily store and access their materials.”

• Scholastic for the Scholars!

  Throughout the course of this year, the students have been greatly impacted by the Scholastic News Magazines and StoryWorks subscriptions. The students and I are extremely grateful for your generous donations that allowed access for these awesome texts. As mentioned earlier, these texts have made a significant impact in the the educational process for my students. First, the students are offered opportunities to explore various topics of relevance through the articles. Secondly, the students are able to practice and master core skills through the materials offered by Scholastic.

  Every week, there is an excitement that feels the room when I distribute the new Scholastic News magazines as well as the StoryWorks subscription. The students look forward to reading the articles that capture their interest immediately. This is so important to me because it is very critical that students immerse themselves in meaningful text on a daily basis. Therefore, seeing the students possess a desire to want to read is very rewarding. The magazines always have articles that are relevant, engaging, and meaningful. For example, articles discussing the recent Presidential election was a huge highlight during this school year. The students learned so much about the candidates, the electoral process, and other key components pertaining to the Presidential election and U.S. government.

  The students have also received much practice in skills with materials that supplement the magazines. The skills range from main idea, supporting evidence, persuasive writing, grammar mechanics, and many others. There are graphic organizers available that also allow students to map out their learning and comprehension of the texts.

  In conclusion, these Scholastic for Scholars is literally the WHOLE package.”
