These materials will make a difference in my students learning, by giving them concrete books to practice at home with family members. This will boost the students self esteem along with their emerging reading skills. The joy and pride the students show with their initial reading success will give them the confidence to move to the next level in reading beyond the decoding of words.
These materials can be used in multiple ways, the priority being getting books into the hands of students so they begin to read beyond the classroom. When an enjoyment of reading is sparked within a child, the goal is to gain a lifelong habit of reading.
