Trick Out My Math And Science Lab
Funded Mar 9, 2016Dear Donors,
Thank you for your generosity. If it wasn't for you, my students would not have access to this awesome hands on math and science lab.
When I introduced fractions and equivalent fractions to my 5th graders, they had the exact tools to conquer this challenge. In their teams, my students used the fraction strips to create a visual representation of these fractions. They also used them to see how fractions, decimals and percentages are all related. This has brought meaning to many students who would have struggled without these tools.
My students have also made great use of the scientific measurement tools that were donated to us. We used the balances to measure the mass of different solutions and then identified the unknown substances by finding a match of the mass to a table of possible substance. My students were so excited to figure out these mysteries! They also used the meter sticks and spring scales to measure the outcome of many different science experiments. One example was discovering how the angle of an incline plane is directly related to the effort force required to achieve work.
And finally, thank you for the metal cabinet that allows us to store and secure our new tools. This cabinet also gives me a place to show scientific demonstrations. My students have used it to present their results of experiments to their peers.
So, as you see, we have made wise use of your gifts. Every time we got a new tool out, I remind them that someone was kind enough to donate this tool to our class. They all think that is really cool. We sincerely thank you for this.”

Funded Jul 26, 2012Thank you so much for your generosity. Without your generosity we would not have access to such great technology. In addition, your contribution has made a huge difference in student motivation. My kids are very excited when we use the iPADS in writing and math. It has also made using the smart board very versatile. I can walk about the room while conferencing with individual students, while putting instructions on the white board. And finally, my students love reading eBOOKS on the iPAD. They have found a new love for reading.
Thank you again,
Mr. Graves”

Funded Oct 3, 2011As a small token of my and my classes' appreciation, we say thank you. Both of our 5th grade classes are so thankful for the learning tools that you so generously provided. They have been learning great things using the games that you provided. Examples of our success are that our students are becoming more aware of main ideas and supporting details. Other successes that we have shared are: improvements in inferencing, summarizing, and identifying the authors purpose.
Without generous donors such as you, we would not have access to the instruments of success. Bless you all and please believe me when I say, "You are appreciated!"

Funded Sep 5, 2011As a small token of my appreciation I say thank you. My students are actively engaged in learning to write and are completely excited about using the equipment that you have donated to us. We just completed our first personal narrative and are beginning to write an informational research essay. It is difficult to get all of my students interested in writing, but my classes attitude seems to be more positive toward writing since they have the office supplies that you so generously donated.
My after school newspaper writing group is still in the planning stages, but as we learn more about writing techniques and writing purposes we will be using your gifts to create our first newspaper article. Without the help that you provided through your gifts, my students would certainly not taken a personal role in their writing.
I hope that you all receive many blessings for the generosity you have shown to me, my students, and my school district. God Bless!”

Funded Aug 15, 2011As a small token of my appreciation, I say thank you. You have no idea how much your donation has meant to my students. I am finding that they are reading much more. The color nooks have truly made a difference in their attitude to ward reading. I have personally noticed an improvement in their reading scores. I believe that this is due to the increased reading that has taken place. We are currently working on a check out system and my class is very excited to know that they can pack and take your generous gift home with them. It certainly will bring your generosity to the attention of our parents.
I know that without your generous hearts that our students would not have access to such a great reading resource. Our school district is having to focus on getting on with normalcy following the destruction of many school buildings. So, I have to say I truly appreciate every thing that you have done. Please know that every time that I witness students reading with the Nook I will be thinking of you all.
Again, I am so appreciative of your generosity and I hope that you know that what you have done will have a positive impact on students who are from a community in need. ”
