  • Flexing in Fourth

    Funded Dec 13, 2019

Wow! My students are so excited to have these wobble stools in the classroom! It is hard to sit all day and these wobble stools give students a way to get their wiggles out, while staying engaged and present in the lessons.

We are able to rotate the wobble stools around the room so all students can experience them. With six stools students can move around the room, use stools during independent reading time, and just be more focused and engaged.

Thank you so much for your generous donations. The wobble stools have been a wonderful addition to our classroom and will be enjoyed for many years to come.”

  • Makin' Magnificent Mathematicians

    Funded Dec 5, 2019

Thank you so much for the funding of this project! They came at the perfect time as we are currently working on fractions. The fraction bars are easy for students to use and manipulate and gives them a visual. With a tricky concept, yet so important, the fraction bars help all students get a better understanding. The large magnetic chart papers have been fantastic as well. I can quickly model on the notebook paper and students can all see it and it saves so much time. The grid paper has been amazing, especially during our fraction unit, when I am drawing equal pieces. Thank you so much for the donations!”

  • VersaTile Learners

    Funded Oct 20, 2019

That you so much! So many times teachers are looking for ways to engage students while teaching them different strategies. I am so excited to use Versa Tiles, as I believe I have found the perfect combination of engaging and strategies based learning. With Versa Tiles, I will be able to reach more students, as students can use Versa Tiles independently or within a group. I love that flexibility and the ability to have more students working on differentiated areas for their specific needs. Thank you so much for giving me this amazing resource!”

  • Flexin' in Fourth Grade!

    Funded Jul 23, 2019

Thank you so much for your contribution so I could add some flex sears to my classroom! With these flex seating options, my students have more options around the classroom and aren't restricted to their one seat throughout the day. These floor chairs allow my students to wiggle around and get comfy, all while still being productive with their class work. I can't thank you enough for donating to my project. My fourth graders and I are beyond thrilled with these new additions to our classroom. Thanks again!”

  • Wonderful Writers

    Funded Mar 2, 2019

Thank you so much for the donations towards our "Author at Work" writing folders. Each student in my two writing classes has received a folder and they love the many features that are readily available to them. The students were in awe when they kept turning section after section and seeing the different features. I plan on having students use these each and every day during writing, as students often forget different elements when we are not specifically studying that element. These folders will strengthen their writing skills in so many different ways. I am beyond grateful! Thank you again.”

  • Needin' Nonfiction!

    Funded Feb 7, 2019

Thank you so much for the donations. We are thrilled to increase our nonfiction books in the school library. We found that nonfiction was an area of concern across the building, so we created these grants to bring more engaging nonfiction to our kids. By getting the kids excited about nonfiction, we believe that our students will become even stronger readers. When selecting books for the grant, students were very excited about the prospect of these books. This particular grant will cover students in grades K-5, so we are truly reaching the entire school and for many more years to come. We plan on having a reveal party in a few short days to play up these great new books. Again, much thanks and gratitude for helping instill the love of reading with our students.”

  • Needin' Nonfiction!

    Funded Oct 26, 2018

We are so excited for the new nonfiction books in our school library! Too many times students have been discouraged by the lack of new and engaging nonfiction books as the ones in our library are severely outdated. Through this grant, we received 38 new nonfiction books and had a preview party for all students. The excitement was contagious and we are hoping to see an increase in nonfiction reading. Thank you so much for your contribution and know that these books will be loved and cherished for many years!”

  • Kindles Keep Us Connected!

    Funded Aug 22, 2018

Wow! I am so thankful for your donations! These two kindles have excited students in the short time we've had them. My students read every day, and we are building up our stamina each and every day. The kindles allow me to download popular books right away. So many times, kids finish a good book in a series, and are excited for the next book, but that book might not be available. The Kindles have solved this problem, keeping kids engagement at a high level. I am able to get such a variety of books that reach my readers. Thank you again! My kids are so thrilled to read on the kindles!”

  • "Wonder"ful Literacy Practice

    Funded Dec 9, 2017

Wow! Our students were blown away with these journals. When they saw them on their desk, many students squealed and immediately asked if they could write in their journals. As they flipped through the pages, they were shouting to their friends about some of the different quotes and precepts throughout the journal. In the time the students had to write in their journals, you couldn't hear a sound because all the kids were so engaged. Mrs. Schweska, and our 5th graders, can't thank you enough for your kindness and generosity! Happy Holidays!”

  • Traveling the World with Books

    Funded Aug 23, 2017

These books are already a huge hit in my classroom! The moment I opened the box, the kids were begging to check out the new books. By adding to my "Who Was" series, students are learning more about famous parts of our history and important landmarks across the world. These books are so engaging and motivating to students. I was also able to get series, such as The Kane Chronicles and Heroes of Olympus, which appeal to my higher readers and are not available in the school library. Thanks so much for getting my students so excited to read this early in the school year.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Godefroid

My classroom is made up of 4th grade students who love to read and write. I am always looking for ways to motivate their learning and engagement. I love seeing students get excited when we receive new materials for our classroom. I am hoping my students are becoming life long learners. With donations I receive, I promise to continue to bring engaging and meaningful materials into my classroom. I feel as if I spend a lot of time determining what materials would be the most engaging and worthwhile when planning for my students. I want my students to be able to connect with a book, all while making them a better person, complex thinker, and an all-around problem solver. Thank you for donations that will not only help my kids academically, but also in the real world!
