  • Full "STEM" Ahead in 4th Grade

    Funded Aug 2, 2022

Thank you so much for the gracious donations. I was able to get a variety of STEM related materials for my fourth grade classroom. In these first few weeks of school, the students have spent some time exploring, building, and getting excited about STEM. The fourth grade team and I are researching hands on, small group activities using the STEM materials, working on teamwork and decision making as well. Anytime kids are excited to work on something within the classroom is a huge success so thank you for bringing success and excitement to my classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Godefroid

  • Storage for Success

    Funded Mar 22, 2022

Thank you for your donation to help our classroom. We were so excited to receive our baskets to organize our supplies. I told my students the morning we received the baskets that they would be arriving and students cheered. Later that afternoon a student excitedly shouted out they saw the FedEx truck arriving with our baskets. Two students raced to the office and were waiting for the FedEx man as he brought our boxes in. Students eagerly organized their materials and said it feels as if they have a mini locker on their table. I was able to include teaching charts on the baskets that students use multiple times a day, so not only are we organized, but we have more learning tools literally right at our fingertips. Thank you SO much!”

    Ms. Godefroid

  • Really Great Read Alouds!

    Funded Oct 21, 2021

Thank you so much for the generous donations. Through your donations, I was able to receive great quality read alouds. Students use the fiction Notice & Note signposts to help them build a deeper understanding of reading standards such as theme, character traits, and important moments in the story.

We have been practicing our Notice & Note signposts since August. We had used up many of the books that went with the signposts. However, because of your donation, we have plenty more books to continue to practice our signposts.

Your kindness is so appreciated! Thank you again!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Godefroid

  • Organized Students = Successful Students

    Funded Sep 23, 2021

Thank you so much for the generous donations. From your donations, we were better able to organize our classroom and ourselves. When students saw me organizing our reading theme/topic books, they immediately got excited. They wanted to know when we would be studying these topics, and they love how easily they could look at the titles of all the books now. Before, too many books went unused as students had to dig through the bins and they just didn't spend the time to do so.

Our binders and pencil pouches came at a great time as some students never brought these to school. We are learning AVID organizational skills and two of the biggest ways we organize ourselves are with a binder and pencil pouch. The extra binders and pencil pouches will serve as backups throughout the year. Thank you so incredibly much for helping organize our classroom in multiple ways.”

  • Live, Laugh, Love, LIBRARY

    Funded Aug 12, 2021

Thank you so much for your donation to our library makeover items. The students of Lindsay Elementary, as well as the staff, parents, and the community will be very excited for a big reveal once the project is complete.

COVID-19 has impacted this school, just as it has everyone across the country. The entire student body entered the building this past week for the first time as a whole group since March of 2020. Your generous donations will help the students transition back to in-person learning with a safe, comfortable, clean and colorful new environment to enjoy reading, learning and growing together.

They are going to love going into the library and exploring all the new sensory items, flexible seating items and colorful wall decor. This was made possible thanks to you.”

  • Learning About Diversity Through Literature

    Funded Aug 11, 2020

Thank you so much for the donations. Book club is typically my favorite part of the day, as amazing conversations happen here. With these added books, my students will now be able to learn more about diversity in the world. I am looking forward to the meaningful conversations that will come about with the reading of these books. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to bring these books into my classroom, enhancing my students' critical and social thinking. I can't thank you enough. Thank you again.”

  • Lindsay Library Love!

    Funded May 5, 2020

Thank you so much for the generous donations. Library time should be an exciting time, searching for the next perfect book to read. However, with no full-time librarian, our books were outdated and students didn't enjoy library as much as they could. However, with your donation, we were able to purchase many new books for our school library. Students will now have more engaging and current books to choose from during library time. We purchased popular series, replaced the most loved books, and added in many new titles to the existing books. I can't wait to see students' excitement for the new books. Thanks again so much!”

  • Community + Curiosity= Class Sets

    Funded Mar 5, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous contributions. Through this grant, I was able to get three class sets of different novels. Fourth graders love read alouds, and now I feel as if our read alouds will get even better.

When students have the text in front of them, they can dive deeper and dig into the text evidence. These class novels will help students sharpen their critical thinking skills and will make them feel apart of the classroom community.

Again, thank you for your generous donations. Classes for many years will benefit from these class sets and I can't thank you enough!”

  • Books a Million!

    Funded Feb 20, 2020

Thank you so much for your donations! I was able to get more engaging, on-level books for my students. Too many times students don't like reading, but I think it is because they haven't found the right books.

My class has recently fallen in love with the Hatchet and Treehouse books. I can't keep these books in the library. My students were beyond excited when they saw complete sets of each series. I was so excited to see their excitement over these books.

I am looking forward to using the new sets for our group time. Some of our best conversations come during group time with a shared book. These new books will encourage students even more. Thanks so much!”

  • Making Market Day Memorable!

    Funded Jan 24, 2020

Thank you so much for the donations for our Market Day supplies. With these supplies, ALL students will now have what they need to produce goods for Market Day, which aligns with our classroom economy. Three times a year we run a Market Day in the classroom and not all students had available materials and felt defeated. However, with this project, I now have a variety of supplies that will be readily available to students. Market Day can now be memorable and a moneymaker for all students. Thanks so much!”

My classroom is made up of 4th grade students who love to read and write. I am always looking for ways to motivate their learning and engagement. I love seeing students get excited when we receive new materials for our classroom. I am hoping my students are becoming life long learners. With donations I receive, I promise to continue to bring engaging and meaningful materials into my classroom. I feel as if I spend a lot of time determining what materials would be the most engaging and worthwhile when planning for my students. I want my students to be able to connect with a book, all while making them a better person, complex thinker, and an all-around problem solver. Thank you for donations that will not only help my kids academically, but also in the real world!
