Ideal and Important iPad Covers
Funded Jan 16, 2025Thank you to all the donors who generously donated to the Ideal and Important iPad Covers project. Both my students and I would like to express our appreciation for your belief in the importance of this project. Thanks to you my students are using their iPads everyday safely in the classroom.
My goal was to keep my students safe while also protecting the glass on the iPad's surface. Our goal was achieved thanks to you. Now every day my students safely go onto their iPads, reading books, practicing their math skills and completing math centers. Also, on Fun Fridays my students get to use their iPads to create algorithms on Scratch Jr. and build on Minecraft Education.
I am incredibly thankful for the impact you've made on their education.”
With gratitude,

Funded Aug 25, 2016Dear Donors,
Thank you so much for funding my first Donors Choose project, "All Aboard The Gifted STEM/STEAM Train." It is through your generosity that my students can now solve real life problems through STEM education. The STEM kit offers many different challenges. My students are excited and they welcome the challenges! They work together hard with their team members to figure out how to create a prototype to save a situation. Every Friday, the students challenge themselves to solve problems that are happening in our everyday lives. The students always tell me that Friday is their favorite day of the week because they look forward to their future STEM challenge.
I am happy to say that the STEM kit arrived only a few days after school had begun. This added excitement and motivation for the new school year. On the first day of school, I had shared with my students my own excitement about the project. On "Meet the Teacher" night I told the parents about the wonderful donors who helped purchase the STEM kit for our classroom. They were so happy.
Besides solving real world problems through STEM, the students discuss what worked and what didn't work. I often use Alexander Graham Bell's quote, "Before anything else, preparation is the key to success." The STEM challenge kit taught students to prepare for each challenge before they even start to solve the problem. They have become students who think, prepare and then start. The students take great pride in letting other staff and students know about their STEM projects.
My donors have inspired my students and I have to say myself in more ways than I can even put into words. My goal as a second grade teacher is to ignite the love of learning and through your donations this will hopefully last a lifetime. Again, thank you for your generosity. You made a difference!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Shenocker
