• Visualizing Financial and Whole Wellness Health!

  Oh my goodness, check out this amazing set up I can now display! There are so many versatile ways I can use my new flip screen along with my computer and the personal one that was funded on an earlier project that is for student use. I can have kids work directly on their projects with me side by side, regardless of whether or not they have a computer. This has been an amazing game changer!

  This semester alone, I have sat with 80+ juniors to go over their post secondary plans and have side by side, pulled their real time info up,. while guiding hem through their own directed lesson. I have worked with 20+ seniors in building their fasfa's so they can keep their info private, but correct and am currently reaching the sophomores on their career journeys and scoping out the financial prospects of each.

  I LOVE having the ability to jump from tech set ups because it enables them to keep working and gathering information seamlessly. Not to mention, it is really helping these aging eyes not have to strain so much!! Building longevity here :)

  But more than anything I am eternally grateful and touched from the love and support of donors choose. In these trying days, it is a true beacon of light, thank you thank you!”

• Communication & Cultural Immersion Without the Reliance on Social Media

  I cant get over the absolute generosity and support my kids and myself are getting from Donors Choose! I mean, really, it feels like we are in a bubble of luxury!

  Because of you, I was able to fully equip our offices (we have 2, a counseling office and a post grad center) with new, up to date technology settings, translators that all all of us to keep working with our 2200 studenta simultaneously! Meaning, no one has to pause or stop a kid or parent, in mid sentance to try and solve a language barrier. Keeping the flow of communication is vital towards building our community strength and spirit. Keeping conversations between 11+adults in our working environment makes it a comfortable place for kids. And, they are not whipping out the phones! The attempts at all of us putting in effort to speak other languages is great!

  The fridge is beyond cute! And much bigger than I anticipated! It is fully set up in the classroom that we use now so select kids can have a safe place to eat, store thier food, grab a snack while decompressing and even use for some of thier projects.

• Translating in a Phone Free School!

  This has been the most amazing experience! I can not even begin to tell you how many kids we have been able to reach in meaningful ways and in over 65+ languages!

  We use these translators daily in all 9 of our offices. Watching kids have the relief of being able to express themselves in their language while simultaneously immersing themselves in their new language is priceless. So many of our new language learners were very worried that without the use of their phones this year they would be lost. Knowing they have spaces they can go into and still access language adds to their overall well being and mental health.

  These translators do everything! From kids asking questions about colleges, general directions in and about the school, taking pictures that help us translate documents and secure graduation, and most often (and most important) we use them when kids are expressing their socio-emotional concerns and feelings. There is so much beauty and importance in what they say, and now we have ways too help hear them in real time. Thank you for helping us create a more connected world!”

• Social & Emotional Growth Support for Teens!

  Ther is just nothing better than being able to communicate and provide a safe an vibrant space for kids!

  The translator has been a true lifesaver! This year alone we have over 480 kids who are new to english and about 275 do not speak any English, so having a reliable way to meet their needs and chat does a world of wonder to thier souls and helps us plan well for them!

  The microwave is a god send. More and more students are now getting access to warm , whole foods that can sustain them throughout the day. Especially now the weather is warm we are getting much more lunch visitors.

  And as expected, the coloring supplies are a hot comodity as students are expressing a releif of emotions. Arpund the holidays i have doubled the coloring sheet copies. The monitor and docking station are essential to what i do everyday and everything is so appreciated, needed and well utilized. Thankyou!!”

• Whole Teen Wellness Planning Post Covid! Support Our Next Generation!

  This has been an absolutely amazing experience!

  Getting the new technology has been a lifesaver! It took some rounds to get my district to service the computer, but it was worth it and i am so so so grateful! I can participate in online meetings and get my kids the information they need in real time! It has made my life easier. Not only can I access material, they are able to use my tech too, so we can work together!
