• Community Service Promotes a Kinder Community Beginning the School Day

  Thanks to donors like you students in the school are able to help their fellow younger students when they have difficulty coming into school in the morning. They were so excited that when they had a student that was having a hard time transitioning into the building they could attempt to problem solve on their own. While it may not have worked in every situation it did work in many situations and it really made the beginning of the day easier for many of our younger students especially in the beginning of the school year. • MacBook Pro for Small Group STEM Collaboration

• Fish Tank Tech Boost in Literacy for Newcomers

  Funded Feb 13, 2024

  Thank you so much for your donations to support the development of the English language among our newcomers. The students were thrilled to start using their headphones with the new jack supports they had previously struggled so much using their joy school app with helped them with learning English and while their headphones were great the jacks couldn't fit through their iPad cases. When these adapters were added they were overjoyed and couldn't wait to begin practicing and did so with such enthusiasm. Additionally as our class pet Sheldon the fish needed a new home as he was sick from having too small an environment they were thrilled to have a new home for him so of them sit and learn English by describing things that are in the tank and were thrilled that they got to keep their pet and find him a new home.”

• Community Warmth

  Thank you so much for your generous donation and helping keep my students in their families warm during the cold winter. So many of my students are new to the country and don't have the essentials needed to keep them warm in climates that are so very different from with where they have come from, the donation of hats and gloves brought smiles to my students faces, and they were thrilled to find out that they were there to keep it that they could bring them home. Some of my students were able to bring it to their family members as well and they couldn't be more appreciative. It's important we remember that education is not just about teaching academics to a child, but also supporting them in their home environments as well. Your generosity has allowed that to happen for my students and enable them to become the learners that they need to be.”

• Magnetic Base 10 Sets and Laminating Pouches for Community Learning

  Thank you so very much for your support of this project it enabled students to bring home comprehension sheets to work on with their books at home and help share with their families and communities all the things they were learning about in school. They were also able to work on Math problems with appropriate tools enabling them to use the same tools at home that they use in school and share their thought processes in Math with their families and community. It is so very important to extend learning past the classroom and into the community and I'm so grateful for your support in making this happen for my students.”
