We are requesting 2 iPad Minis as well as the protective cases because these will help my young students access curriculum, intervention, and books within the classroom. I'll be able to use these iPads to assess and document their learning.
My students have disabilities that make learning a struggle every day of the week. As a teacher, I'm always looking for new tools to help them learn and to engage them in the process. I see my students in small groups throughout the day, and only have 30 minutes to try to catch them up on years of learning. We can't afford to spend that precious time hunting down school iPads, or hoping that they will be free when we need them.
These iPads will offer me the ability to use many different learning and management apps with my students such as Evernote, Lexia, Kindle, ClassDojo, SnapType, Google Drive, RazKids, and iBooks. Our kids are the future, and they need access to technology in the classroom to be prepared to be digital savvy adults.
