  • Teaching Like a Pro in Real-Time with an iPad Pro

    Funded Dec 2, 2020

    Thank you so much for your kind and generous support and donations! My students and I are very grateful. You provided us with needed technology tools especially during this challenging, distance learning year with an iPad Pro, Apple Pencil and keyboard.

    The new iPad gave me the opportunity to annotate directly on the screen with the Apple Pencil to teach writing and math, annotate online materials, use as a helpful second screen, and administer online assessments. It has been such a huge help and valuable tool. I will be able to continue to integrate it into my teaching in the coming years. It is a great investment that has made a positive impact this year, and I know will also be in the years to come to help teach other children.

  • Need MacBook for Mac-Nificent Students Please!

    I want to express my gratitude and appreciation for your kindness and support! It is wonderful to now have an up-to-date MacBook. This tool will allow me to better connect with my Mac-Nifecent students virtually and bring as much learning to them as I can from afar. Your donations will allow me to be equipped and on the road to being a better teacher with 21st Century skills during this distance learning time. I will also be able to use my new MacBook long-term when we do hopefully return to the classroom sooner than later. "Distance learning" and "virtual classroom" have quickly become part of our daily vocabulary due to the Stay at Home mandate in my state. It has been a challenge, to say the least, being catapulted into the digital world of teaching and learning. As an elementary educator, I am grappling with learning and teaching technology simultaneously with my students. An up-to-date MacBook will allow me to teach virtually, hold virtual meetings, and provide engaging and effective curriculum. A larger screen and updated software will be fewer obstacles to support distance learning. It will support my professional development as I need to toggle between screens during live and asynchronous webinars. I will be able to connect with my students academically and also provide socioemotional support as I meet with them virtually "face to face". A better, reliable laptop will allow me to continue to engage with my students more effectively and help them focus on positive things like school and connecting with their teacher and friends online.
