The use of projectors in classrooms to share information with the class is a super common practice. Yet this powerful tool is often bottle-necked by the teacher's computer. If students don't have their own computer to connect to a projector, or if the project or file is incompatible with the teacher's machine, then the student can't share their research and work with the class at large. Given that 80% of our 7th grade students qualify for free or reduced lunch, a phone is the only "computer" access many of them have. An Apple TV receiver will allow students without computer access to share digital information with with their classmates from their phones and other handheld devices wirelessly. In addition, students can switch presenters without the disruption of switching cables and dongles. An Apple TV will change the projector from a one use tool to the center of a collaborative digital classroom!
