  • Scholars Need Resources to Grow Independently!

    Thank you for contributing and making a difference in my classroom. My students were so excited when I told them what was inside the bog box that was delivered to our classroom. My students have been using these materials and have been able to build fluency with the concepts and skills they are learning in class. They are filled with so much pride when they have mastered a skill and are able to reinforce their learning independently during centers time. They get so excited to show me the work they have done and how confident they feel in their work and efforts. We will continue to use these centers and other materials to validate learning and continue to build confidence and pride.”

  • Help My First Graders Expand Their Learning Environment!

    Thank you so much for supporting my class with our alternate learning spaces! We use our carpet everyday for morning meeting. Morning meeting is a time when we gather together in the morning to sing songs, reflect on our learning from the previous day, and get our day off to a positive start. My students love to be able to go into our space that doubles as a reading center and a cool down space for when they are upset. It is a comfortable space where students can go to reflect if they made a bad choice or to calm down if they are sad or angry.

    It is also a place my students love to go to read! When they walked in the classroom and saw the carpet for the first time, they were all so excited! They said wow Miss Henry! This is amazing, I love our new carpet! These things are used everyday in our classroom, and they add so much character and joy to the room!

    Since our carpet also has a world map on it, we use the map when we learn about new countries, cultures, and habitats to see where they are, and how close or far they are from where we live. It is also used to play games, have snacks, and meet at the end of the day to reflect on what happened throughout the day, and what we would like to see happen the next day. I can't thank you all enough for your willingness to give to my class!”

My vision is to have bean bag chairs in our quiet reading area to help promote excitement for independent reading and literacy. This space would double as a quiet place to go if a student is feeling upset or just needs a little break. I want a colorful carpet that would allow us to have morning meetings and group time in a place other than their desks that also adds to learning. Unfortunately, I do not have the resources to provide all these things for my classroom and students, so if you are able and willing to do so, please give what you can.
