With our budget crisis in Oklahoma public schools, we are facing larger class sizes every year. The classroom that I am currently in can, in no way, fit 25+ desks in it comfortably.
If we had thin workstation tables, my students would have an easier time moving around the room. As it is now, we are already bumping into one another and tripping over desks or chairs just to get to our lockers between classes.
Tables would also help with discipline, because it is easier to see under them. The desks have a cover, plus a place to put their books, so it is easier to hide stuff.
