Really Rad Read Required for Righteous Readers
Funded Jun 23, 2011Thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom. As a seventh-grade, Language Arts teacher, one of my biggest challenges is finding books that my students will enjoy. So much of what our school offers are outdated books that even the teachers are lackluster about reading.
Your donation of The Hunger Games truly helped to inspire and excite my students about reading. After we finished the book in class, our librarian had to order more copies of Catching Fire and Mockingjay to keep up with the demand. My students told their friends about how great the book was, and soon our school was caught up in a Hunger Games frenzy! Several parents even emailed me to tell me how much they enjoyed the book after their kids raved about it. What an exciting year it's been!
Seeing this kind of excitement from my students is a reminder of why it is I teach. Thank you for helping to make that possible. Your donation is truly appreciated.”

A Nose for News
Funded Oct 28, 2010Thank you so much for your donation to my "A Nose for News" project! Thanks to your generosity, my newspaper staff has had an amazing year!
With the donation of the camera, we have been able to provide our readers with quality photographs. Previously, we relied mostly on student cell phones to take pictures. You can imagine the quality of the photographs that appeared in our newspaper. We look like a professional organization now - or at least as professional as middle school journalists get!
The scanner has been a tremendous help as well. So far we have used it to scan photos from other sources, but with it we will be able to do so much more as the opportunities present themselves!
In a time where educators are regularly being bashed in the press and funding has been cut to the minimum, I am so grateful to organizations such as yours that still want to help us help our students.
Thank you again, Cellular One, from the bottom of my heart.
Sincerely,
Mrs. H”
