Funded Oct 5, 2022Thank you so much for your donations to my hands on math project. My students were absolutely ecstatic when they found out they were getting their very own manipulatives to use in class.
As a math teacher in primary school, I strive to make learning fun and as hands on as possible. To me, that is the only way students can truly retain the content being taught throughout the year.
We will definitely be doing a lot more hands on lessons in a whole group setting as well as in small groups. Thank you again for making this possible so my students can continue to love learning!”

Funded May 3, 2022Thank you so much for funding my project. Now that we are a 1:1 school district, all of our students have chromebooks they use daily. With our new headphones, students are able to solely focus on activities done on their Chromebooks without distractions.
My students loved the look and feel of our new headphones. They thought they were super comfy. With 2nd graders, durability is key and these class set of headphones do not disappoint.
Students are able to listen to videos, complete research projects, and have fun learning with their new and improved headphones!”

Funded Oct 21, 2019This year has been the toughest year when it comes to literacy in math. Due to all the challenges faced this year, students came to second grade at low levels. Luckily, having these flashcards has helped tremendously. My students were able to take their own set home to practice their math facts on top of practicing fluency in small group or with a partner during stations. Math is such a huge component in Education that it is important that students continue to get the opportunities to learn at home as well as at school.
The bean bags were a huge success in flexible seating. Though it was a challenge this year, my students absolutely loved the new chairs. They were ale to get comfortable when complete silent reading time or during stations where the magic of learning happens daily here in 2C.”

Funded Oct 14, 2019Thank you so much for our ink and new classroom set of head phones! Since technology has become such a huge factor in today's learning, head phones were desperately needed. With online and face to face learning, my students have been using ipads daily to check assignments as well as watch videos and upload work. Having the headphones for my students made learning in a quiet environment a lot more easier.
Having ink for my classroom printer always makes things more manageable! I am able to make each student their own centers for stations as well as fun interactive journal activities. Without these supplies, my classroom probably could not function!”

Funded Oct 28, 2019we had a brand new curriculum that we used this year and the resources from this project helped tremendously! The caddies and orange folders really helped my students stay organized with their writings and their writing supplies.
At first, my students were unsure of the new writing materials because they had never used those types of supplies when writing. They absolutely loved the little staplers and thought they were the best thing ever! Mainly because they were tiny and handheld based on the sizes of their hands.
Thank you so much for donating to this project. My students really needed this supplies to push them to become amazing writers!”

Flexible Seating Makes Learning FUN!
Funded Aug 5, 2018Thank you so much for your donations to my project! Here in 2C, we are all about flexible seating in the classroom. With these chairs and stools, my students are able to take their learning around the room instead of just at their desks.
My students absolutely loved the new bean bag chairs. The colorful stools also give a pop of color to my classroom. They are easy to carry and are very comfortable.
One day, when my principal entered the classroom, she absolutely loved the chairs. She ended up seating in one of them and read my class a book. These materials are a true blessing to my classroom.”

Making Learning FUN!
Funded Oct 22, 2018Thank you so much for donating to our project. As you know, second grade is a very important grade because it is the bridge between first and third. This grade level is the peak to a students reading ability. There are numerous reading skills and strategies to be taught throughout the year.
One skill that we work on the most is more of a STAAR strategy where the students are to go back in the story to prove their answers. This helps a lot with comprehension and taking responsibility for their own reading. Getting our students ready for third grade is our main goal!
We have a lot of shared reading and partner reading time throughout the day. This happens either in small group or centers. It gives my students the opportunity to read with someone and have whole group discussions about the text. With all of this practice and the ability to have all of these hands on activities, my students will sure be successful.”

Ink, Ink, We Need Ink!
Funded Oct 15, 2018Thank you so much for donating to our project. Technology is an important part of how our students learn today. It makes them more involved in what society today has to offer.
My students are able to use iPods and iPads during station time. They can listen to books being read in the listening station or play educational math games. Our computers are also imperative because my students learn to research a topic and take AR tests over books they read.
Having ink for my classroom printer is extremely beneficial to me and my students. I have created a lot of our hands on activities just by using my printer. My students here in 2C are always excited when they see something new I have created for them during station time. My students who love to create books are able to do so using our printer.”
