Children are natural storytellers. However, they are not able to write their stories. Many children in our class are learning English. They also have stories to need to tell. These children are often not able to express or narrative their stories. Props help children show us their story. We will be able to make instant connections with children and are able to understand their stories. Eventually children are able to tell us their stories. We often record them and share them with their families. They also learn to make books and illustrate original stories. These stories live inside of each child. This is why storytelling is the heart of literacy.
