  • Advance Modeling Through 3D-Design and Printing in the Classroom

    Funded Dec 30, 2022

This project totally exceeded my expectations. Students have really embraced their creative side with using TinkerCad to create some amazing designs for both classroom projects and personal endeavors. Just wow. The pictures I am sharing are of some of a certain student who found her creative passions, wonderfully coming out of her shell to

None of this would be possible without the help from programs like Donor Choose and those who give like you. As a teacher I always want to give my students opportunities to excel beyond the everyday learning experiences. I want them to build on their own talents and passions. This project has really allowed that to help. By the end of the year, my student had begun working with extreme special needs kids to help bring their imagination to 3D reality.

I am humbled and thankful for Donna Choose and those who gave.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Vanous Brown

  • Modeling Through 3D Design and Printing in the Science Classroom

    Funded Nov 1, 2022

Wow. I can't describe the excitement my students have had learning to 3D print creations. I started by introducing tinkerCAD as a 3D modeling software and allowing them to create simple nameplates and ornaments. Then has quickly evolved into character creations and scientific models. It gives them a purpose for knowing the details of structures in various science concepts as they want to design accurate prints.

The introduction of 3D printing has empowered my students to create and it has enabled me to channel science ideas into that creative power. I am happy to see smiles on those faces when they see their creation make it to print. It has been especially powerful with my Special needs kids by cutting away some of the limiting factors that a tradition classroom puts in their way. Can't wait to see what they will come up with next as we begin to study and model cells and cell organelles.

I can't thank my donors enough for their support and generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Vanous Brown

Your donation will allow my middle school students to get one step closer to gaining the tools and technology needed to learn to write basic programming code and robotic engineering. Your donation is supportive of the STEM initiative that offer highly engaging activities/programs for students. I want my rural school students to have the same chance to engage in technology education as those in highly funded magnet schools. My students deserve the chance to experience learning that matches the current world they are growing up in, and not be limited because of their location or family financial limitations. This demands they engage in technology beyond typing and the internet. It requires they create and innovate. The Ozobot classroom kit you are donating to will offer my class 18 Ozobot robots and all the supplies/tools needed to allow me to inspire my students to become computer scientist, engineers, and innovators. It will give them the experience of basic robotic engineering and code based programming. Using Ozobots, students use color coding sequences to create code. They use these codes to design actions and task for their ozobots. As a second part to this program, students would be challenged to achieve task in given time frames. This adds a competitive and engaging element to better mirror real world robotics engineering and code development.
