In Feb. 2016, our school moved into a portables-only campus that lacks access to green-space or shade during recess, and lacks any permanent architecture or landscaping. The students will be on this temporary campus for at least seven years. With materials from this grant, our second grade students can participate in a long-term, cooperative, meaningful mural project that will beautify and personalize our campus. And the entire school will benefit. Your generous donation to this project will help children learn that they have the power to create beauty and positive change in their environment, even when there are other factors that are not in their control. Children and adults alike are affected by the environment that surrounds them. When art and nature are accessible, we can increase our feelings of well-being and sense of place in the world. Thank you for supporting education, art, and children!
