Warm Toes
Funded Feb 23, 2017Thank you so much for your generous donation of socks ! We had a wonderful day of opening packages and dividing up the warm socks. The socks were such a treat to many students who had been wearing old and worn out socks that have been washed a number of times. The warm and soft socks tickled their toes and they left with smiles on their faces and full bellies. The next day no one complained of cold toes. We are so warm in our new black no holes socks. Thank you so much for your donation! May God Bless you.”

Funded Mar 30, 2017Thank you donors! We are so glad to have new uniforms to boost our confidence and hopefully our grades and other endeavors will follow. We will impress our visitors and our peers with our smarts and our sharp looks. We are so very grateful. A clean shirt is sometimes hard to come by for my students. Sometimes their home needs are not always met with the same standards their peers in other districts in the state have. But I am happy they will have a new shirt and a smile on their face, and I can't take the credit for it. So thank you!”

Funded Mar 11, 2017Thank you so much! My students are very excited about the items they get to take home. The lotion was especially exciting with exclamations of "Yes! My skin won't be ashy anymore!" and "Hooray! I'm going to be so shiny".
A student came into the office for a library book and was thrilled when she was given a box of kleenex when we noticed her runny nose and cold symptoms.
Thank you. The rest of the essentials will be given to our school nurse to hand out as needed. You have made a difference in our students' lives.”

Funded Nov 19, 2016My students are so excited about the body pillows and yoga balls! They finally have a place that they can chill out and read in the classroom. It helps to have an inviting atmosphere where students can let loose and hang out reading their books.
We have set up an area in the classroom that students can relax, and read their books. The students love to lay on the pillows and read! They even come in after school to spend time just chilling!
These products have motivated our students to read more. Our test scores have shown an increase, since we set up the new area. We expect an increase in our reading scores on the state standardized tests, due to our students reading more.
Thank you for making our reading area as cozy and inviting as it is. Our students are enjoying your generosity!”

Two is Better Than None
Funded Dec 26, 2016On behalf of my students, I sincerely appreciate your donation that led to my students getting the printer that we so needed for our many writing projects. This printer has been instrumental in allowing my students to have that instant gratification that comes with writing and re-writing essay's. No longer do my students have to leave the classroom in order to print their final draft essays. We are so appreciative that this printer not only print but it scans, faxes and copies documents. I have informed students that they are welcome to use all these amenities as it is now considered "ours."
In these hard times, it is nice to know that there are still kind people out there willing to donate to a great cause. May you be replenished for your kind deeds.”

Funded Sep 30, 2016Our school is so excited about starting our flag football team. We sent home an announcement about signing up for football two weeks ago. We had 60 students sign up to play. We have eight teams with 7 players on each team.
We divided the students by grade . We have 4 teams for grades 2-3 and 4 teams for 4-5. We practice on Wednesday from3:30 til 5 pm and have games on Friday's. Our first practice we had over 50 parents attend. The parent involvement is terrific.
The students that play football behavior in the school has drastically changed. One students that had been repeatedly suspended this year has not been to the office since starting football. Overall we have seen improvement in behavior of all the soccer players and this would not have been possible without this generous donation.”

Walking to a Healthier Student
Funded Sep 23, 2016Dear Donors,
Thank you for your thoughtful donations. Our goal at Winchester is to help our students live an active healthy life. The pedometers will aid us in this mission. My students were so excited when we opened the box. We numbered each pedometer so that the student will know which one belonged to each student. We have cut a walking trail in the back of our building. We started our walking club the day they arrived.
An active lifestyle will lead to a healthy lifestyle.”
