I want all of you to know how touched and humbled I feel every time I get a grant funded on Donorschoose.org. I recently switched both grade levels and schools. It was a bittersweet and emotional decision to make. In doing so I left many materials behind. When I feel regretful about what I left behind, I am reminded that the generous citizen philanthropists on DonorsChoose.org have consistently come to my rescue; thank you for that! Thanks for bringing hands-on experiences and art to my students. I honestly cannot tell you how much it means to me! Thanks again. And Larry V, you are a true angel. Thank you for believing in me in any and all circumstances. There is no way I can ever thank you enough.”

Thank you so much for the amazing and inspiring collection of literature for my second graders. They now have much more information about what justice, equity, and inclusion are. They also have had a chance to see ways they can use their voices for good in our world. Now more than ever we as a society must be able to listen, love, and fight for good in our world. In the words of Dr. Martin King, "an injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." Thank you for helping my students understand these concepts so they can be part of building a better and more hopeful future. We appreciate you!”

This has been such a wonderful and fun project to get funded. I have since moved schools and now teach in Old Town, Albuquerque. Getting my students interested in birds is easy here, as we have a great many of birds on our Bosque (forest) campus daily such as sandhill cranes and geese! The children love seeing the geese on our campus and having binoculars give us a better chance to see these magical birds in a more intimate manner. We have been reading the Wild Robot, in which a robot becomes sentient being and mother to a little gosling. Having these "bird nerd" materials has been a wonderful tie-in to our other learning in class. I appreciate you greatly for these fabulous materials. Enjoy the photo I uploaded of our campus "sandhill cranes." :)”

Thank you very much for the beautiful and diverse literature. Now that I am in a second grade class, this is even more meaningful! We were able to set up a lovely section of our room for the diversity books. Students were very excited to learn new words such as "justice," "equality," and "diversity." Inclusive literature is essential for any classroom, thank you for making it a reality in ours! Your love means the world to us and these books will be used for years to come, regardless of what grade I am teaching. Thanks a million!”

Thank you for the spinning sensory seats for my Pre-K class. I love them, but not as much as my sweet students do! They provided a good opportunity for children to have a much needed sensory break. They allow them to use their core strength to control their speed as they revolve in the chairs. I appreciate your kind gesture and generosity. Young children need plenty of outlets for their energy and sensory needs and your kind donation provided just that! Because of generous donors like you, I can provide children classroom materials they love and need. Thank you again.”

The fancy hole punchers have quickly become one of the most popular items in Pre-K. Children love using them to make all sorts of things. They enjoy using them for collage. They also pretend that the larger cutouts are invitations and tickets for their friends. These punchers are helping my class develop better fine motor skills and think creatively as they create in our classroom art center. I appreciate you helping students build their creativity while having fun. Without your generosity my classroom wouldn't be half the place it is! Thanks from the bottom of our hearts.”

These items for our fairy gardens are so magical and fun! Students enjoyed setting the small items up around the school flower gardens and imagining little fairies coming to visit our school. They made little groups of animals, set up small ponds with fountains and bridges, and made some little "houses" out of nature items. I know that having students interact with our green house and community garden is such an important part of their development. Getting them interested in gardening will help them develop life long skills. I appreciate you from the bottom of my heart! Thank you for loving my students!”

Sometimes a hug is all we need. These plushies are darling and SO incredibly soft. We immediately were able to use the squirrel with the book Scaredy Squirrel, which helped students with their engagement with our book so much! The octopus and the rabbit are very popular to snuggle with at rest time. The students enjoy wrapping all 8 of the octopus's tentacles around themselves for a big hug times 8! :) I cannot thank you enough for your kindness, generosity, and help this year. Your donation means so much to us!”

I am so appreciative of the snacks you have provided my students! No child should ever live in fear of when they will next eat. Your love and generosity help my students to feel safe and secure. Having a visual aid to support them in understanding that food is always available is both a comfort and security blanket to my preschoolers. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts for feeding us healthy snacks that we have available throughout the day. I couldn't do this without your support! I thank you again.”

Thank you so much for gifting us more fidgets and items for our Zen Den/Safe Place. The children really do have an abundance of energy and emotions this year and your donation has helped them regulate in safe ways. I appreciate you so much. I think the weighted sloth is especially helpful in calming the students, they simply love it! They also love the playdough and sand tray. Your love and generosity help all my students reach their full potential. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting our classroom goals!”

Science is the spice of life and we need to keep it alive in early childhood education! I teach Kindergarten in Albuquerque and have a diverse group of curious five and six year olds! I believe wholeheartedly in a child-centered environment packed with hands-on and interest based learning. I've always said that if you do what you love, you'll never have to work a day of your life. Thank you citizen philanthropists for helping my students get the quality education they deserve!
