  • Technology and the Future

    Funded Mar 1, 2018

The students in my class have absolutely LOVED the computers! Because of your generosity, we now have enough computers for every two students in our class. This has GREATLY helped students access online resources and develop a deeper understanding of the content we study. In addition, they are now able to type written pieces, and create Slides to present research projects. They are developing stronger communication skills, as they learn how to work closely in groups to conduct research on various topics. These computers have truly made a huge difference in my students' lives, and we are so grateful for your very, very kind and generous support!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. OBrien

  • Mrs. O's Reading and Math Fun

    Funded Dec 26, 2017

Thank you so very much for the amazing materials you purchased for my students! The students are LOVING using them. The reading center has made a huge difference. They are able to listen to books read to them by different authors, which engages them like never before. They are able to record their own reading and hear it back, which is hugely helpful in their understanding of their own abilities. They are focused and excited!

The clipboards and clear pockets are fantastic for involving their hands and eyes and the colors bring their attention right to the work they're doing. Being able to erase quickly with their erasers and start over has greatly reduced their fear of making mistakes.

Thank you again for these wonderful gifts!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. OBrien

  • Endangered Animals: A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words!

    Funded Feb 22, 2017

Thank you so very much for the wonderful computers and charging station! My students are having a blast learning about endangered animals, as you can see from the pictures. They just can't get enough, even coming up to eat lunch and learn more! The pictures and videos have given them a new perspective on how these animals live, what life is like in their various habitats and how both humans and the environment impact the lives of endangered animals. The most exciting part is how the children's eyes light up when they learn something new and surprising, and how even my most reticent students become engrossed in learning. Your generous donation has enabled my students to broaden their knowledge of the world and, hopefully, begin to view themselves as stewards of the earth. Thank you!!”

  • Helping Students Even the Field in Computing Skills

    Funded Dec 20, 2016

Your gift has been a huge help to my students! They now have a deeper understanding of the focus animals and predators they've been researching. They are able to watch videos showing what these fascinating creatures can do as well as view pictures and find many other resources where they can learn more. The books they've been reading just can't convey this level of information! What's most exciting is that my students are thrilled to see such rich details on the computers, and their reactions as their research is brought to life is beautiful to see! They are more motivated than ever to delve deeper into the topic, which is the greatest gift a teacher, or her students, could hope to achieve. Thank you so much!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. OBrien

Hi Friends! I am a special education teacher in the 4th grade in a high-poverty public school in New York City. My students are such wonderful kids; they show tremendous interest in the world around them, and an amazing ability to be kind, thoughtful, and caring friends to others. They are learning to be stewards, right here in our local community, and in a global community as well. They are at an age where to be part of a community means more than just what happens in the classroom - the world at large is dawning on their conscience, and I strive to inspire my students with the knowledge and resources they need to make the world a better place!
