I currently teach 2nd graders. I am always trying to come up with ways to help them pay attention. As we know, 6 hours is a long time for a child to sit. Whey my students are sitting in chairs they often sit on their knees, one leg or rock back and forth. They are always trying to find that comfortable position in which to sit and listen. They often end up tipping over their chairs and falling! I believe that if my students had exercise balls to sit on and lightly bounce on, they will be able to sit and focus for longer periods of time.
