My classroom has harsh fluorescent lighting and no windows. I have extremely painful, chronic migraines and I have students with sensitivity to the harsh lighting. In order to eliminate the need for the fluorescent lighting, my principal requires lamps be numerous and bright enough that students do not have to strain. The lack of windows means it will take more to make this happen. My students deserve a learning environment that is warm and inviting. Fluorescent lighting is neither. They also deserve me as a teacher to be able to concentrate and be my best self, but it is difficult to be that person when I am fighting massive headaches. These floor lamps and desk lamps will help create a bright learning environment and will allow us not to use the fluorescent lights.
