Childhood obesity has more than doubled in adolescents in the past 30 years. Healthy lifestyle habits, including healthy eating and physical activity, can lower the risk of becoming obese and developing related diseases. The dietary and physical activity behaviors of children and adolescents are influenced by many sectors of society, including families, communities, SCHOOLS, child care settings, and the media. My students have realize the severity of childhood obesity and want to change that and start an active lifestyle. My students will be motivated to track their physical activity and create goals for themselves and prepare them for a healthy future. My students will use the step trackers to monitor their physical activity and set goals and make improvements.
