I would love to supplement the reading instruction provided by my school district with full-color literacy magazines that will motivate my students to read.
StoryWorks Jr. is a magazine published by Scholastic. It offers authentic texts that help students in key reading, writing, speaking and listening, and language domains, and is aligned to the Common Core Standards. The magazine will provide students with essential practice in concepts such as critical thinking, main idea, cause/effect, text evidence, making inferences, and paragraph writing. Children will not even realize how much they are learning because the magazine will help make learning fun for them!
StoryWorks Jr. will strengthen our core academic program and enrich the curriculum by providing my young readers with high-interest and relevant non-fiction topics, engaging and playful activities, read-aloud plays, and quality literature.
