Flexible seating allows students the choice to move about the classroom to find an area and seating arrangement that will best support their learning. Sitting in a hard, plastic chair all day long is not comfortable and not engaging. Having stability balls in the classroom as a seating option will allow my students to have a comfortable place to learn and grow. Stability balls as a seating choice is especially helpful for students that have a hard time sitting still in class. It allows them to move in a way that is not distracting or disruptive. If students are comfortable in the classroom they will be more engaged.
