Working Wiggle Worms
Funded Jan 12, 2021Thank you so much for your generous donation that allowed my classroom to purchase two wobble chairs. My students need to move. The two new wobble chairs allows my students to wobble, rock, bounce, lean or stand, which increases oxygen flow to the brain, blood flow and core strength. In turn, this burns more calories and increases metabolism. It also helps keep young minds more alert and focused. Many of my students have ADHD and are different types of learners. These students need to be moving while they are learning. By moving in their seat, it helps part of the their brain that is focused on working memory that is able to be alert. My students feel empowered and more engaged when they have some choice over their learning and now they have a choice on where to sit in my classroom.”

Newcomer Success Stories
Funded Aug 13, 2019I want to express my sincere appreciation for your extremely generous gift of English Language Learner games and stations. Your interest in the education of my 60 newcomer students is very touching in this perplexing time of educating and improving the lives of these sweet children. Most of my immigrant students are sixth graders who have come here from extreme poverty, endured nightmare situations getting to our country, and have lost parents or family members getting here. Their personal items of shoes, clothing, and family keepsakes were taken from them in detention areas. So, you can only imagine their joy and shrieks of excitement when we opened your boxes in the classroom together. Even though they don't speak English, they were like any children in the world who love receiving a gift!
The games you purchased for them are games that make the children speak while having fun. The students get to move around the room from station to station in a relaxed setting. They love the hands-on-approach that the learning games give them.”

Funded Aug 6, 2019I want to express my sincere appreciation for your extremely generous gift of English Language Learner games and stations. Now that my sixth graders are comfortable using and playing the English Language Learner games, they will be starting to lead groups with the younger newcomer students. This enables them to continue learning and gives them the confidence of being a leader. The younger children feel the security of being in a setting with their older peers. This frees me up, as the teacher, to complete one-on-one assignments with other students in the classroom.”

Funded Mar 4, 2013I can not thank you enough for your generous donation of an iPAD for my 2nd Grade classroom. We have been using the iPAD daily and my students are so excited about the fun learning games.
The iPAD is being used in my classroom as well as the high ability class that I teach in the afternoons. My class is using the iPAD for multiplication and division learning games.
Our school corporation has recently adopted a new reading series that includes several applications that I have downloaded onto my iPAD. I can not wait to see how much these will help my students with learning to read next year. Without your donation, my classroom would not be able to fully access all of the options that our new reading series offers. Thank you again!”

Problem Solving With Picture Books
Funded Oct 5, 2009I can not thank you enough for supplying the money to purchase the math books for my classroom. I have organized the books according to the math standards and am using them in addition to our math program. My students absolutely love hearing the books read to them over and over again. After I read the books, they are then placed into our reading corner. My students are choosing to read these books and I hear them talking about the books during free time. The books are making math easy and fun for students to learn!
Without your help, the money for these books would not have been available. Thank you again. ”
