!!Educating Young Minds!!
Funded Feb 12, 2019Thanks so much for this opportunity to attend a professional development conference in the area of differentiated instruction for Math and Science! I am scheduled to attend the conference July 9-12, 2019 and I am confident that the four-day conference will provide me with valuable information that I will take back with me to improve my teaching strategies. My students will definitely benefit from the knowledge I will attain at this conference and I will be able to create activities that best support the learning of each student in my classroom using the information I learn for years to come.
I am extremely excited to attend the professional development conference for educators and eager to explore new hands-on technology. This will help to continue learning outside the classroom! The knowledge I will gained from this unique experience will directly impact the success of my students. This conference will allow me to add to my toolbox of strategies for differentiating content to help create the future engineers!”

Funded Sep 17, 2016Our Science Lab Set(s) are WONDERFUL!!! Each student received his/or her own lab set kit. This enable them to physically follow along during experiments and not just observe as they have done in the past. Of all the many experiments we have completed using our lab sets, the students chose to share the hands-on project "Making Colors". First, we followed our "Great Scientist" golden rule- always protect eyes with eye-wear(Goggles). Next, each group was giving two different food-coloring colors(Group 1: Yellow and Blue, Group: 2: Yellow and Red; Group 3: Blue) placing each color in a small test tube. We used our eyedropper and remove milk from the beaker to squeeze into the small test tube. Then, each group predicted what color would form after mixing both test tubes. Once all the new colors were made, we checked our predictions!
Unfortunately, our schools' Science Lab is now our interventionist office, but we didn't let that stop us! We just moved our experiments to the class. But, not before each student assured me they would take the responsibility of carefully cleaning all equipment used and their desk after each experiment. And, I definitely didn't mind moving back into the classroom, because nothing was going to stop the joy I get from seeing my students actively engaged in projects. Having the lab sets have allowed my lower students (who are sometimes afraid to speak in fear of answer wrong) to speak with confidence on what they are doing and learning.
This whole experience, has been so rewarding from creating this "Hands-On Science" project that you have so graciously funded to ALL the smiles on my students face! I appreciate all that you have donated to assist me in teaching our future SCIENTIST!!!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Williams
