Learning with Tablets
Funded Jan 10, 2022My students were very excited to open up their tablets. In class we use Starfall, Brainpop, and Flocabulary to increase literacy skills. Technology is very important and it is vital that my students have equitable access to resources that will prepare them for their future. The students have been able to download books, learning apps and are able to play fun math games. The tablets have taught them how to cooperate and share with each other.
Many of my students do not have access to technology outside of school, they look forward to coming into school everyday for technology time. Some students have become technology experts and help other students access learning apps and more.
They are so proud to have these resources in their class and they are very thankful. We want to extend our gratitude and say Thank You for helping our classroom”

Remote Learning 2020
Funded Sep 16, 2020Words cannot express how very thankful I am for your support with our project. This school year has been filled with lots of unprecedented circumstances. This has been a learning curve for myself and my students. Adapting to remote instruction and ensuring my students have all they needed to learn was and is my top priority. My students do not have materials at home that can support their learning. Your contribution has allowed me to supplement my lessons with interactive and engaging material that will help my students in their daily learning in all academic subjects. Despite the circumstances I have seen my students grow and learn how to navigate remote learning. It is heartwarming to see this progress. They are eager to join class and complete their assignments every day. They are able to access books, compose sentences and complete phonics activities interactively. They are able to access math manipulatives that help them better understand the topic. My students and I thank you all so much! Thank You for your generous contributions and for supporting our learning, and Thank you for believing in us.”

Funded Apr 25, 2019Each child in class X30 has been able to benefit from our printer and laminator. I am able to create reading, writing, and math worksheets in seconds. This is helping each child meet and exceed their academic goals. The children are also able to search and print out their favorite coloring pages when they have free time.
We are currently working on our summer project about landmarks in NYC and are creating a scrap book of all the places we are visiting this summer. Every student has pictures of themselves and they are creating their own unique scrap book. It is really looking great.
The printer has made life more simple for me. I'm able to print in my class and have the material in seconds. These materials have made me classroom more efficient. I am very thankful for the kindness and generosity you have shown.
I want to say thank you again for your donation.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Verizon and 6 other donors.Open Our Eyes to a Whole New World Of Books!
Funded Nov 22, 2016Thank you for your kind donation. Your caring support for our classroom has made a tremendous impact in our daily activities. Working in a title one school in NYC there is no doubt that there is a lack of resources and we need all the support we can get from donors like you so that we can build a foundation for our the new generation to stand on. A foundation built on literacy and a love for learning. This helps build the students self esteem and motivates them to do better and achieve more.
Your gift is already being used in our classroom. Every Morning we have an activity called book browsing where the students are able to pick a new book and then write one sentence about a character or major event that happened. The children's faces light up each morning they get to read and explore a new book. The leveled library has made such an impact on our class instruction, during guided reading students work on different skills such as identifying initial consonant sounds and locating the main idea in a story. With the books I am able to have the students get into groups based on reading levels to target specific skills. We also use the other materials in literacy centers, and the students love the vibrant colors of the Dot art painters, these are a useful resource for my students who are unable to circle a response. Now they can stamp it or use a dot art marker.
You've done something remarkable and amazing and your generosity is inspiring. Thank You for helping me in achieving an enriching learning environment for my students.
