  • Make Time For My Kids!

    Funded Oct 23, 2016

We love reading about the current events and interesting Science news articles that are in each issue of Time for Kids! We read each week's issues and then used the graphic organizers included to find important information. We especially enjoyed the videos on the website that accompany each issue. The lessons allowed us to focus on important reading skills with each magazine, including finding key details and main ideas.

Time for Kids was especially exciting for us as we followed the election process and outcome. We also learned about current events from all over the world, including natural disasters and scientific discoveries. In this picture we are reading an article about bioluminescence as it occurs in nature and also how bioluminescent materials can be used in construction and science. We are also logging onto the website to watch related videos.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Giesin

  • Brainpop Power!

    Funded Dec 29, 2016

Thank you so much for helping out my classroom again! We will put this subscription to good use. My class will benefit from this in many subject areas. We will start using this immediately. It will help several of my co-workers, too. Thank you very much! It is appreciated.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Giesin

My students love learning about current events, but need materials that are on their reading level. Time for Kids has articles and resources that are interesting, age-appropriate and can be used with our study of U.S. history. My students will use Time for Kids weekly to explore current events and read quality nonfiction that is at their reading level. I will use the articles to spark classroom discussions. Students will write in response to what they have read. In Social Studies, I will use the Time for Kids activities and teacher materials to help connect current events to past events in American history.
