I want my students to be engaged readers that are pushed to read diverse books. Books that are engaging to my readers are the books that will make a difference in their lives. For this reason, I want to see all of my students with graphic novels at their disposal. There are so many benefits to providing these kinds of books in the classroom. Graphic novels can: 1. Provide challenge for advanced readers 2. Provide interest to reluctant readers 3. Provide connections to the video games and comic books students already play and read I want my students excited and ready to learn this year with an engaging library. Providing diverse books is one key to their spawning their growth as readers.
