This large area rug will provide a comfortable space for students to receive short daily mini-lessons during Writers' Workshop. Sitting in a small area next to their writing partners, students can focus better on the skill and modeling presented by the teacher, plus, partner sharing is easier and teacher observations are more efficient. For Socratic Seminar discussions, the rug will facilitate quicker transitions, more engagement, and better exchange of ideas. The area rug can also be utilized for small group discussions and as a relaxing reading and research area. Students can collaborate on iPads or help one another on Math problems.
