  • Ending the Year with a Bang using Arts

    Funded Jan 25, 2022

Thank you so much for giving to my classroom! We are so excited to be able to use these resources for the rest of the year!

Classrooms like mine rely on our generous donations to ensure that our students get the best education possible. I can't thank you enough for your help!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lewis

  • Wet n Wild Adventure!

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

I cannot express my appreciation enough for your donation. Because of your generosity, we were able to attend this field trip at Wet n' Wild. It was the culmination of our waterslide engineering project, and the kids were thrilled to be able to experience in real life what they had been studying and building. The day was wonderful, the students had so much fun whizzing down the slides, and playing with one another. They were able to celebrate not only their engineering projects, but the end of a successful school year. We will never forget your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lewis

  • Full Year Classroom Supplies

    Funded May 25, 2017

I cannot thank you enough for donating to my class. Every year I spend a lot of my own money on my classroom, and it can be a burden to myself and my family. I sincerely appreciate your stepping in and helping me fill my classroom with supplies we will use all year.

We have used the materials in many different ways. We've used the notebooks for taking notes in various subjects. We use the clipboards in order to take our work to different places in the room. We used the glue today in creating new animals to roam different biomes, and we've used the pencils daily. It really helps that they are a good quality and will sharpen on the first try.

My students were very excited when the materials arrived. They could not wait to see what we would use them for. They have been very appreciative of what they have received. As we complete projects throughout the year, we will continue to use all the materials that you so graciously provided.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lewis

  • Vocabulary and Technology Together at Last!

    Funded Dec 20, 2016

I cannot thank you enough for supporting my classroom. I had not used Google Chromebooks before, and I didn't realize how useful they are. I have been trying to teach my students to use Google Docs along with Google Classroom. This year is the first year they have been exposed to Google, and using the Chromebooks has made the transition easy. I love that they can log onto the Chromebooks with their emails and passwords, and they have access to all their Google materials.

We have also enjoyed reading the Storyworks Magazines. The students have loved seeing the full color articles, and learning new things. They especially love the reader's theater sections of the magazine! On Fridays we often do a reader's theater from Storyworks as a class. Last week, they enjoyed learning all about Alcatraz and imagining daring escapes.

Thank you for all of your support! Your generosity has helped my class learn how to integrate technology, and that will be a useful tool in their school careers.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lewis

In my classroom, I will use technology daily during our reading and math workshops. We will use websites designed for literacy and math, as well as research. This generation of students was born into an era of ubiquitous technology. My students do not have a lot of access to technology at home, and I will use technology daily in my classroom. I want my students to be as comfortable as possible using technology. They will need an advantage when they get older, and it is vital that they begin using technology in elementary school. I use Google Classroom because I know students will need to be comfortable with it when they go to Middle School and High School. I would also use laptops for various other activities, such as creating brochures, online demonstrations, and videos. I would love to have access to some additional learning materials, in order to better help my students have the power to achieve. I have used Storyworks, which is a Scholastic Magazine, in the past, and my students love it! In Storyworks there are examples of all kinds of genres in every issue. There are fictional stories, nonfiction articles, reader's theater, and vocabulary lessons. Storyworks would be a welcome addition to my reading instruction.
