  • Junior Bronx Scientists!

    Funded Sep 16, 2016

Thank you so much for funding my microscopes project! My students and I are all very excited! With your support, we will be able to turn my class into an even more engaging place, where the students will be able to get their hands on some of the more interesting labs, involving microscopic exploration. I am confident that this will increase interest and understanding.

I will be able to use these microscopes in an exciting and appropriate way to fuel student learning and achievement. One more time, thanks so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. B.

  • Microscopic Observation!

    Funded Oct 14, 2016

Thank you so much for your generous donation! My students and I are excited to begin exploring using our NEW slides with our microscopes . I've written lessons that will allow my students to collect data, analyze data, find results, construct and label diagrams, and form conclusions. Finally, my students will share their exciting results with the class. Once again, thank you so much for helping bring the love of science to my classroom here in the Bronx,NY. We are eternally grateful.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. B.

This classroom project was brought to life by Con Edison and one other donor.
The microscopes will allow my students to work in small groups to discover the real world of science using their sense of sight! They will collect and analyze data and draw conclusions! I have created hands-on lessons that will challenge my students to think, explore, and learn in a fun, stress free classroom environment. Students will research various topics prior to using the microscopes to add to their prior knowledge. They will then work in groups to make predictions as to what these microscopic specimens look like. They will then record their predictions on their data tables. Next, my students will look at the various specimens through the microscopes and record their results. They will draw conclusions, record their findings in written form or by drawing diagrams, and present their findings to our whole class!
